Exciting News!
Dear readers. I am so overwhelmed with joy right now. My Chess Memoires just got published in a condensed form, in The Globe and Mail, Canada’s leading news platform.
I wrote these memoires while watching The Queen’s Gambit series. It brought back a lot of memories of me competing in chess, and being the only girl in the tournaments, often times.
I originally wrote my memoires in detail, in 8 parts, with 3 more parts to go (!!) and submitted part 3 (my experience in Russia, the fall of the Communism, the heartbreak and my last chess tournament game), one of the juiciest I thought. The Globe and Mail came back asking for more Canadian experience. And so I had to fit my 25+ page memoire, my entire chess life basically, into under 1200 words! And I did it! With editor’s help.
You can read it in The Globe And Mail Here:
I have now temporarily password protected my memoires for the next 8 days, and will remove the protection afterwards, for those who want to read the details.
Thank you everyone for reading my blog, giving me your feedback and encouraging me to publish this memoire! You know who you are 😉
With Love,
Olya
