Notes:

I currently refrain from putting foods such as quinoa or rice into bento lunch box because it’s messy. Plus it’s too much work for a little child to pick up a spoon and dig through thousands of tiny rice/quinoa grains. I find small children are too distracted at school to do that, and more goes on the floor rather their tummies.

Keep in mind, if your child’s lunch box comes home half empty, it doesn’t mean that your child didn’t enjoy the food. There is a high chance your child simply ran out of time to finish his/her lunch. I see that happen sometimes with my daughter and at first, I feel disappointed at my lunch creation. But then, while driving back home, I would hear “mom, I didn’t have time to finish my lunch/snack, can I finish it now?” and I know I’m on the right track.  So don’t be sad. Keep trying. Even if your child doesn’t like a recipe now, she might like it in the future.

Please let me know your thoughts and comments on these ideas and if you would be interested in more ideas (Round 2) 🙂

Let our children eat healthy!

With Love,
